Book a free lessonBoth! We welcome children of all abilities, and for group lessons, we use the first two sessions to get to know your child's experience and personality, so we can place them in just the right group. For private lessons, their teacher tailors everything to your child from the very start.
Our teachers are brilliant with kids of every experience level, and they're trained to help each one feel confident and excited from their very first lesson.
For private classes, your child will be the only student in each class, with a dedicated teacher for 60-minutes each week.
We keep our group classes small and personal, typically 3 to 4 children for younger age groups, and up to 5 or 6 for older students.
Your child will have a 60-minute class every week with one of our live online teachers.
Every lesson is built around a fun, creative theme, from art and music to fashion, entrepreneurship, gaming, magic and sport, so your child is always excited to see what's next. Younger children typically start out with playful, block-based coding in Scratch, while older students dive into text-based coding, progressing from Python through to JavaScript, HTML and CSS as they build toward real-world web development skills. We keep a close eye on each child's progress and adjust their content and group along the way, so they're always learning at just the right pace.
Don't worry, your child won't miss out! We'll automatically send over a catch-up recording so they can code along in their own time if they want. If they don't get a chance, their teacher will make sure they're brought right up to speed in the next live session.
Your child gets the most out of a lesson when they're there from the start, but we know a few late minutes happen sometimes. For private lessons, their teacher will wait for the whole lesson, so your child can still join even if they're running behind. For group lessons, we close access after the first 10 minutes, just to avoid distracting the other children who are already deep into their projects.
Either way, if your child misses a lesson or arrives too late to join, we'll automatically send you a recorded version so they can catch up whenever suits them.
Group classes: Individual classes within a group can't be cancelled or rescheduled, since that would affect the other children in the class. If your child misses a class for any reason, including illness, we'll automatically send you a recorded version so they can catch up in their own time, and their teacher will make sure they're brought back up to speed in the next live session.
If you know your child will be away for two weeks or more, you can pause your subscription to avoid being charged for the classes they'll miss, just give us seven days' notice.
Private classes: You're welcome to cancel an individual private class, essentially skipping that week, as long as you give us at least six hours' notice, and we'll credit your account for that class.
Yes, our lessons run every day of the year except Christmas Day, so they continue over school breaks and public holidays. But if you know you'll be away, you can simply pause your subscription for between two and eight weeks at a time. You won't be charged during the pause, your child's place in their group is reserved, and we'll send you a recording of each lesson they miss straight to your inbox so they can code along in their own time if they want.
Just a Chromebook, or a laptop or a desktop computer with a modern browser (we recommend Chrome for the smoothest experience), along with a webcam and microphone. A mouse is a nice-to-have for younger students too. There's nothing to download, everything runs right in the browser. Phones and tablets aren't supported.
We keep things simple and flexible. There's no minimum term, so you're free to cancel at any time before your next payment date.
